The LVS Hassocks community encourage and support LGBT+ Inclusivity. As a specialist school, we aim to provide students with an education where they can learn, grow and achieve around an experienced team of teachers and teaching assistants who are passionate about providing a positive and nurturing school community that allows students to express and accept their true selves whilst reaching their full potential.

LVS Hassocks continually raise awareness of LGBT+ inclusive by building it into all curriculum areas and making it a talking point, so it is known to all students and staff that the school is neuro divergent and encouraging of the LGBT + Inclusive community.

We are proud to have achieved the Rainbow Flag Award with the support of Allsorts Youth Project and Riley James Kewn. Through our curriculum offer, pastoral support, Governor and parental involvement, work with outside agencies who have helped our students to produce a fantastic totem pole, to celebrate diversity and inclusion at the school, to staff training and much more, we are able to show a fully inclusive approach to all that we do.

Principal, Jen Weeks said “We are delighted to have been recognized for our work on our inclusivity and raising understanding and awareness of LGBT+ within LVS Hassocks and the work we do to support our staff and students. Through staff attending training sessions, students delivering assemblies, support from Governors to outside agencies working alongside our students to reviewing our curriculum and pastoral support, as a community we have adapted and improved the work we do at LVS Hassocks on inclusivity and diversity”.
