LVS Hassocks awarded Gold National SMSC Quality Mark
LVS Hassocks are proud to have been awarded the National SMSC Gold Quality Mark Award, this was confirmed by the Quality Assurance Panel on the 16th November 2021 and will last up until November 2024.
Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) development allows for the students to incorporate self growth across the whole curriculum. This award acknowledges the raise in profile of LVS Hassocks in the community. We are so pleased to have achieved this great award!
Victoria Quijada, SMSC Quality Mark Manager, had a number of fantastic points to say about the school in her report. She said “the school has a real family feel where every person’s contribution is valued. The Headteacher’s leadership and vision permeates every aspect of the school and all members of the school community recognise this. The students were particularly positive about how they are treated as individuals. Where their needs are met, they are able to thrive and gain the experiences and qualifications that will help them take the next steps in their lives. They were able to describe the Head’s vision for the school and how this supports their learning and wellbeing”. Another point Victoria highlighted was the comfortability of the students are parents within the school grounds. Lastly she wrote “the café and horticulture area give the students invaluable skills and serve as a crucial link between school, home and community. “
This is something to be celebrated and we thank all the students and staff for their amazing efforts.
Our principal Jen commented on the award win saying ”I am delighted that this award recognises the hard work of our staff to prepare students for the world beyond LVS Hassocks, the continual support of our families and the amazing achievements of our students”.
