LVS Hassocks‘ new Primary class are already settling in well, and ended last week on a high with an enjoyable session of parachute games.
With the first week at a new school being daunting for any pupil, our youngest learners were able to enjoy the beautiful grounds and relax whilst having fun with the teaching staff.
Whilst learners had a lot of fun, there was more to the session as LSA Samantha revealed: “Parachute games are great to put new learners at ease, but also a really good way for teachers to engage with them and share enjoyment. Communication and interaction are often areas which children with autism can find difficult, but the group all listened, worked with each other and completed a number of tasks because they were able to communicate and demonstrate teamwork. Their response was really good”.
