The school is under the leadership of Principal, Jen Weeks and supported by Kayley Willcocks, Deputy Head, Cecily Burchill, Vice Principal and Sarah Sherwood, Director of SEN.
A history graduate from Kent University and a PGCE awarded from York University, Jen started her career in an inner city school before becoming the Teaching and Learning Consultant for the National Secondary Strategy (West Sussex).
After over a decade in senior leadership positions in large secondary schools, overseeing areas such as SEN, safeguarding, transitions and partnership working, Jen joined LVS Hassocks as Deputy Head in April 2017, with responsibility for safeguarding, curriculum and assessment. Jen was appointed Head of School in 2019 and promoted to school Principal in 2021.
Jen holds the Level 7 Specialist Assessors qualification for Access Arrangements from Chester University.
Jen currently also acts as a Team Leader for the Extended Project Qualification and a NEA Advisor for the exam board AQA.
As Director of Special Educational Needs, Sarah works at both LVS Hassocks and LVS Oxford, where, with the Leadership Teams, she ensures that the schools are meeting the many and diverse needs of our students.
Our vision of academic achievement, employability and independent living necessitates a thorough assessment for new students, ensuring that the transition into LVS Hassocks is as stress free for the individual as possible, and the necessary support is available from day one.
