This week, a group of students from LVS Hassocks recently enjoyed an exciting and inspiring trip to CAE in Burgess Hill, a world-leading training centre for aviation professionals.
During the visit, students had the chance to meet Jason, a former pilot who now dedicates his time to training future pilots, and his manager Reuben. The day was packed with hands-on learning and real-world insights into the aviation industry.
To ensure everyone got the full experience, students were split into two groups. While one group had the unique opportunity to fly in a state-of-the-art flight simulator with Jason, the other group explored the training facilities, took part in a classroom session, and discovered more about the science and skill behind aviation. They then swapped, ensuring all students had a go at both parts of the experience.
Throughout the visit, the students also met engineers and current commercial pilots who were undergoing their regular 6-month training which provided a valuable chance to ask questions and learn more about the varied careers within the aviation sector.
The day concluded with a special surprise… Each student received a goody bag to take home as a memento of their incredible experience.
This visit is just one example of how LVS Hassocks continues to offer engaging, real-world learning opportunities that inspire and prepare students for the future.
