LVS Hassocks host careers café morning across National Careers Week

LVS Hassocks hosted a careers café morning for its’ students on Friday 10th March on National Careers Week, where they welcomed over eight different companies.

Alice Brennan, Assistant Head and organiser of the event, said: “Today was about increasing awareness of the different career pathways available to our student’s post-school and giving them an insight into what it could look like.”

Highlights from employers include:

  • Jackie Doe, Vocational Projects Development Manager from Surrey Choices said “We offer support to young people that are looking for their next steps. It was a fascinating morning meeting the wonderful students from LVS Hassocks and helping them explore all their options after school life.”
  • Helen Bet, Diversity and Inclusion Consultant from Leading culture Ltd said “Being an autistic person myself, it is important to ensure young autistic people know the pathways available to them so they can thrive and live a life for themselves. At Leading Culture Ltd we work with organisations to help create culture where everyone feels like they belong.”
  • Callum English, Class Manager Professional Indemnity from CNA Hardy said “What a fantastic morning it has been engaging with the students. It has been a great opportunity to showcase the variety of roles within the insurance industry.”

Principal Jen Weeks said “This was a great opportunity for both our students to see potential employers and the job market, as well as for employers to link up with the neurodiversity community. Our students were filled with optimism and excitement thinking about their future careers and next steps. Thank you to Alice for putting together such a successful morning.”
