Teachers

We are seeking experienced Teachers to join LVS Hassocks at an exciting time in its journey to becoming an outstanding provider for young people on the autism spectrum.   The successful candidates will be qualified to degree level and have a teaching qualification enabling them to teach up to A Level.  Experience of teaching and supporting students with special educational needs, particularly those who have a diagnosis of autism and associated disorders, is also necessary.  Class sizes are typically no larger than eight students and each class has a dedicated Learning Support Assistant.  The role demands the application of specialised teaching approaches, systematic planning and record keeping and the management and deployment of support staff as well as good ICT skills.

Learning Support Assistants

36 hours per week, term-time only - 40 weeks per year

Learning Support Assistants have a varied role within the classroom and school, including: 

  • assisting the Teacher in lessons
  • working with individuals or groups of students
  • organising and running activities
  • producing displays and resources 

The SEN Learning Support Assistants should be a great team player and an excellent communicator as some of our students may display challenging behaviour and need support on a one-to-one basis.

These Learning Support Assistant and Night Support Worker Jobs require that candidates must display some knowledge of special educational needs, in particular children with autistic spectrum conditions. Level 3 Diploma in Specialist support in Teaching and Learnng in schools or equivalent is desirable.

Successful applicants for Learning Support Assistant and Night Support Worker Jobs will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check.

Residential Support Worker

Support Workers

LVS Hassocks is recruiting a Residential Support Worker to deliver a highly structured programme to help build life, independence and work-related skills amongst our residential students.

Hours are Monday - Friday on a shift pattern according to a rota, working 37.5 hours, term time over 40 weeks of the year.

The Successful applicant will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check. Uniform and meals whilst on duty are provided.

Therapy Assistant

We are looking for a therapy assistant to join our team of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Art therapist and School Nurses. You will assist the therapists in supporting the wellbeing of students. You will carry out 1:1 and small group sessions supporting sensory and emotional / behavioural needs through a range of therapeutic practices such as massage and relaxation. You will work with teachers and therapists to ensure that therapeutic strategies are embedded into classroom and boarding environments.

Hours of work to be negotiated.  Term time only
