Learning Support Assistant

36 hours per week, term-time only - 40 weeks per year

Learning Support Assistants have a varied role within the classroom and school, including: 

  • assisting the Teacher in lessons
  • working with individuals or groups of students
  • organising and running activities
  • producing displays and resources 

The SEN Teaching Assistants should be a great team player and an excellent communicator as some of our students may display challenging behaviour and need support on a one-to-one basis.

These Teaching Assistant roles require that candidates must display some knowledge of special educational needs, in particular children with autistic spectrum conditions. Level 3 Diploma in Specialist support in Teaching and Learnng in schools or equivalent is desirable.

Speech & Language Therapist - September 2017

We wish to appoint a Band 5/6 HCPC registered Speech & Language Therapist to provide high quality assessment and therapy for children and young people with a diagnosis of the autism spectrum.  

You will work as part of our Therapy team, alongside another SaLT, Occupational Therapists, Art Therapist and a Massage Therapist.  This role will also link with our Behaviour Specialist and School Nurses.  

LVS Hassocks is a day and boarding school for Learner's aged from 8-19 years, who have a range of needs relating to their Autistic spectrum condition.  This role will involve working closely with our dedicated boarding and education team.  

Newly qualified Therapists are welcome to apply and will be fully supported by our Therapy Manager.

This is a part time role, 22.5 hours per week, 42 weeks per year.

School Nurse - part time

We are looking for a qualified nurse to be responsible for all administration and procedures relating to the medical needs of our students.  The role will include recording and monitoring medical information. 

You should be prepared to deliver some sessions to our students on health related matters such as healthy diet, physical exercise and good hygiene.  The successful candidate will support the leadership team in their pastoral care by dealing with all aspects of medical care and developing positive attitudes to health matters for our students. 

The post holder will need to be an excellent communicator, as he/she will need to liaise with both internal and external agencies. 

This is a job share role working part time hours, term time only

Cleaner - Excellent Hourly rate

We are looking for Cleaner's to join our housekeeping team at our school in Sayers Common. Previous experience is desirable but not essential as we provide full training.

10 to 20 hours per week are available Monday to Friday, 52 weeks per year.
