School & Campus
Calm and beautiful setting for learning and living
The school provides day and residential education and is set in a campus of over 30 acres made up of orchards, sports fields and gardens, all of which will be used as part of the learning approaches within the curriculum.
Residential
The LVS Hassocks Residential Life Skills Curriculum provides a high standard of care within the residential setting. This allows and encourages young people to be in control of their own learning, responsible for their own actions and in touch with their needs and emotions. Learners will develop the skills necessary to manage and maintain their own daily lives and address their personal care needs, understanding that this is integral to their well-being.
The programme for the residential students is based on the model of Supported Independence, whereby students live as independent a life as possible. The support of residential staff will facilitate learning as required to learn social skills, self help skills, leisure skills and wider knowledge necessary to live and enjoy recreational leisure time.
There is a major focus on well-being and healthy lifestyles in the residential provision. Students will be continuing their Whole Health Learning in the provision, including healthy balanced diets, exercise and relaxation techniques/activities.
The 24 hour approach to learning ensures the maximum number of opportunities for personal success.
