On 14th September, Sarah Sherwood, Head Teacher of LVS Hassocks, was presented with a £1,250 cheque from Brian Cook, President of the Past Chairman’s Association.
LVS Hassocks is a supported learning environment for children aged 11-16 years who have communication, socialisation and imagination difficulties, specifically with Autism or Asperger’s.
The generous donation was a combination of £1,000 from the 50/50 Club and events, £200 from the past Chairman raised at last year’s lunch, and a £50 personal donation.
The money will go towards the fitness training modular system and the library at LVS Hassocks.
As Mr Cook said to Mrs Sherwood: “I found it (LVS Hassocks) a truly inspirational place and your hard work and efforts really commendable.
"We left totally in awe of what goes on in Hassocks and the true dedication afforded to the pupils and students. You do the charity proud.”
Mr Cook concludes: “LVS Hassocks is a place to be proud of.”
