Connected Learning

Overcoming difficulties so learning makes sense

At LVS Hassocks, the teaching and learning approach helps young people to make sense of their experiences, connecting their learning so they can overcome the difficulties associated with autism, Asperger's and dyslexia, and help them develop strategies for success in all areas of their life.

There are five interrelated stages of the approach we use, called BERIS:

  • Body and Mind Awareness
  • Environmental awareness and self-management
  • Relationships and relatedness
  • Insight and personal development
  • Self esteem

All elements of students’ personal growth are promoted exceptionally well, and so their behaviour is outstanding and so is their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
