Helping Parents of Children with Learning Difficulties

The approaches adopted at Hassocks aim to equip parents to continue the learning strategies at home. Parents will be assisted with: 

• Structured teaching
• Thinking skills
• Managing behaviour
• Dealing with anxiety

We will also provide a drop-in centre and support networks for ex-pupils.

Providing Resources for Professionals Supporting Young People with ASD, Asperger’s and Dyslexia

The Hassocks team are keen to share their skills and strategies with parents and other professionals, so that children outside of the school may benefit from the unique combination of approaches.

Training Opportunities

LVS Hassocks, in association with The Autism Trust and Whole Health Learning, is able to offer specialist training to parents and professionals with an interest in Autism and CSID.

• Special Interest Group - workshops in good practice in ASD education
• Touch Talks - positive touch and massage for carers
• Developmental Movement and Relationship Play - Level 1
• Attention Autism -  hands-on practice for professionals
• Creative Connections - promoting positive communication, social interaction and well-being through creative arts
• Autism Inside Out - promoting whole health through diet, nutrition, metabolic balance and biomedical screening
