Campus & Facilities

At LVS Hassocks, our students learn a range of academic and vocational skills in a stimulating environment.

We are incredibly proud of our beautiful campus and our Estates Team work tirelessly to ensure we are utilising the area to the full as an additional educational resource for the school.

Our school provides a supportive education set within a tranquil and relaxing 36-acre campus in the countryside.

How To Apply

We are an autism-specific school, offering day places to young people with autism aged 11-19. All applicants are carefully considered to ensure that the school is suitable for the young person’s age, ability, aptitude and special educational needs and that the placement is compatible with the provision of efficient education for other pupils already attending the school.

Wellbeing

Learning for wellbeing provides pupils with the skills and knowledge to be physically and mentally healthy and have the stamina to sustain work.

We support the learning process by focusing on the emotional wellbeing and physical health of our pupils.

Curriculum

Here at LVS Hassocks our students learn in a structured environment with high levels of targeted intervention and differentiation throughout the school day.

Although we operate on broadly age-related levels of achievement, we use a ‘stage not age’ approach to learning and anticipate that our students will gain a range of GCSEs and vocational qualifications at the end of Key Stages 4 and 5.

Therapies

At LVS Hassocks, we support our students to develop calming strategies, suited to the individual, to help deal with increased anxiety.

Our on-site Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT), Occupational Therapist (OT) and therapy assistant support students on a daily basis.

Our Therapy is integrated across the curriculum, with students able to access specialist (1:1), targeted (group work) and a universal provision (blended across the curriculum).

Moving On

The focus of our education is to improve the outcome possibilities for our students.

We aim to prepare young people with autism for life in the workplace so that when they leave us they have the skills and knowledge to be able to get a job and sustain work.

Students work toward a variety of recognised A-levels, GCSEs, entry level qualifications and BTECs and we aim to give them work experience before leaving school.
